Denis Lazo-Cruz is the CEO and Founder of Futbol DLC, a soccer development program dedicated to shaping athletes who not only master the physical skills of the game but also develop the mental tools to reach their full potential on the field. With a deep passion for the sport and a commitment to excellence, Coach Denis has built Futbol DLC as a place where young players can grow, compete, and become the players they aspire to be.

Coach Denis earned All-County and All-State honors in high school and knows firsthand what it takes to work hard as an individual athlete. He has captured multiple Long Island (NY) titles, including LIJSL division championships, the Waldbaums Cup, and the Eastern New York State Cup with several competitive clubs. He continued his career at the NCAA Division II level, playing for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans, where he was a four-year starter and served as team captain for three seasons.

Transitioning from player to mentor, Denis has spent over a decade coaching competitive club teams across New York and California, alongside seven years of high school coaching experience at both JV and varsity levels. Through individual sessions, group sessions, camps, and clinics, Coach Denis has shared his message and philosophy with over 500 players, helping them develop confidence, skill, and the mindset needed to excel.

His coaching philosophy integrates skill development, tactical awareness, and the mental toughness required to perform under pressure. Through Futbol DLC, Coach Denis combines his extensive playing and coaching experience with a focus on growth, resilience, and lifelong learning, creating an environment where young athletes can thrive long after the final whistle.
